ahahah yes, in demo XD, also you do at least 100 trades per month , i barely do 15 with this system ... but as i ve said to you you skype i was messing around with the demo account trying other pairs and setting, i fell from 4500 to 2200... as soon as i have back to default cross i ve returned at 5000 so it work , just stick with the rules and in the long run you have profit

good job kid. It's a long and painful road to success and you are taking the right approach.
Are you running the back test only on EJ 1hour? I read you say earlier EJ(ChfJ) and GJ, so not sure which pair(s) were included in your back test.
15 trades in a month in back test would probably equal to 5 or 6 trades in real live account as you cannot trade 24/7 on a live account(unless you switch down a time frame)...so 2 or 3 pairs might be the way to go when you do it live. It would be ideal if you can achieve similar results on a non-Yen pair so as to not over leverage on on currency.

Hi dugg, i can backtest only one pair at time and open only one trade at time, so if i have a buy open and i would like to add another buy i cant do it , also i have done the back test like it was in real, so i havent taken trade at night, only starting from 8 am till bed time, generally 23... so if a signal was at 2:00 i didnt take it , so the 15 trades are all in daytime, generally 90% of signals are in daytime...

The test was only on eurjpy 1 h tf

    Hi kidrock,

I really appreciate this thread and the tweaks you're doing to faizumi. (Also, thanks for pointing us to the Symphonie Strategy over at FF - impressive strategy, will take days and days for me to go through the 900+ plus pages, but the posted results suggest it's worth it.)

I have a few questions for you re. your faizumi tests:

    1. You say you trail your stops - how do you decide by how many pips you trail (do you use the dots for the BB indicator)? Your TP/trailing strategy seems profitable, so "if it ain't broke..."
    2. You'd said you were testing the 30M timeframe - how did that work out?
    3. You'd said you were trying to work out a re-entry strategy with the 5/8 EMA cross - how did that work out? (I also suck at re-entry, so I'm really keen to find a method that works - shame to have all those pips going to waste!

    Thanks again,
    bonnevie

    Kidrock82,

Am I missing something? Are you no longer using the goldminer and Sniper trend B indicators? Also, what caused you not to take the AUDUSD buy trade at about 1400 hrs on July 5? Higher timeframe trend? Pivot points? Ichimoku?

I'd also asked a couple of other questions a couple weeks ago:

Some feedback on what accounts for your success with the system would be really great.

    Thanks,
    bonnevie

Hi bonne, i will try to answer at all your questions, i'm sorry if i didnt answer at some others post of yours but sometimes i cant stay at the pc and i forgot to answer .

    1) i've noticed that the sniper trend and the goldminer were "useless" i mean, the main signal was always given by the bb stops indicator, also i think that the macd gives you a better understanding of the trend, if the macd is positive a buy signal will be much stronger and a sell signal could be a retracement and so on... So i replaced the sniper and gold miner with the macd and ichimoku.

    2) i didnt take the buy signal because the price in that point was strugling and in the dayli tf was a strong resistance if you look at the month of april, plus the price was near the 61 level of fib (dayli tf)

3)I'm trying to not using the trailing stop, many times the price retrace by many pips when there is a strong move and then resume the movement so i'm trying not to use it if i can, but a 50 pips trailing stop is a good one if you are following the trend, a tight stop loss if it's a counter trend move, maybe 30...

    4) i think 1 h tf is better then 30, less false signals, but i havent had the time to do a proper test

5)Still working on re-entry, i think fibonacci levels are the best, i need to improve in that way...

i hope to have been clear enough

Okay, kidrock, your answers have helped a lot! I had my suspicions about the usefulness of goldminer and sniper trend; thanks for the confirmation. Will try the MACD myself.

Good to know about the daily TF check for the AUDUSD; I've an irrational dislike for multi-timeframe methods so I appreciate feedback on the real effectiveness of the practice. (Not so convinced that higher TFs will keep me out of, say, trades that appear profitable but come at the end of a daily trend when the market turns around; who knows how long a trend lasts?)

I'm currently trying the 30M TF - which I prefer; not showing as good results as yours, I'm afraid. But I haven't had the time to take some really good trades I missed in that TF, so... Maybe ditching goldminer and sniper trend for MACD will help as well.

Look forward to your findings on re-entries. Lord knows I could use the help, regardless of the trading strategy.

    Thanks, kidrock82.

    Will certainly stay tuned.

    bonnevie
