Wow, thanks a lot for the post! I have been planning a trip to Bhutan for a long time. I really like to try on the traditional outfits of the peoples of the world. But lately I'm embarrassed to do it. So many accusations of cultural expropriation around. Here in America, some people are even more obsessed with this than directly representatives of other nations But I think that this can be an expression of respect for culture! It is unlikely that Bhutanese will like it if I attend a traditional event in a chic Bella Barnett dress. Yes, these are amazing things , but I'd better save this for going out to a party in New York...
