We created a skype group to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Harmonic Trading. Practical aspects!

Based on the different discussions and questions that you send, it seems to be very interesting and wanted topic. Different traders see and approach it a bit differently.
If you are willing to share your experience and activly participate in the discussion drop a message to TRADINGARSENAL skype account (that holds this discussion group). I will gladly share my experience, but I am even more intersted in your inputs.

    here are the threads:
benefits and advantages of Harmonic patterns trading

disadvantages and drawbacks of Harmonic patterns trading

How about this emerging harmonic bat pattern on SILVEREURO ? -> Interactive Trading Setups Disscussion-2012-12-27_1207.png
it's still an emerging opportunity, but keep your eyes wide open.

Today's EURUSD harmonic bat bearish pattern -> Interactive Trading Setups Disscussion-eurusd-harmonic-bat-bearish-pattern-2012-12-27_1835.jpg
Entry ideally confirmed by the Pivot Point.

wasn't quite sure where to post this, but here it comes.
    this has been puzzleing me
I've been taught that for a valid pattern to exist there should be a AB=CD or an alternate AB=CD pattern (1,272 or 1,618) the way it should be drawn is a fib retracement from A to B and then move the fib up to the start of the CD leg like this

or should it be done as a fib extension like this
    Interactive Trading Setups Disscussion-capture2.jpg

if you cannot see it on the pictures the CD leg converge with the 88,6 of the xa at the 1.41 extension on the first pic, which means a none valid entry. where on the second picture it converges quiet nicely at the 88,6 with the 1,618 extension.

your pics are very dark, so cannot see much there, but....

actually, in my opinion, both type of Fibonacci measurements you describe are correct here for pattern identification.
    1. you take AB swing and put it from point C (observing 100%, 127%, 161% projection levels for potential point D).
    2. you take AB swing and put it from B point (observice expansion levels for potential point D).
I guess you understand it very well, anyway if it can help -> Fibonacci price projections (APP) and expansions are presented here -> Constructing Potential Reversal Zone

here is also the video presenting how the PRZ (Potential Reversal Zone) is calculated:

    question:
if you cannot see it on the pictures the CD leg converge with the 88,6 of the xa at the 1.41 extension on the first pic, which means a none valid entry.
why 88.6 with 1.41 extension is not a valid entry?

    observation:
After some time playing with Fibonacci measurements for Harmonic patterns I am observing limited practical use of them (strong theoretical use of them however ).
I personally rather look for a beauty (price x time) patterns, and I am limiting placing all different types of Fibonacci measurements to identify the PRZ cluster.
I usually apply only (and maximum) two, for example: internal retracement and AB=CD (in time+price) for Gartley pattern and Bats. Check the section about Gartley pattern, it's described there. No need more for identification of PRZ. Practical PRZ is much better tuned by other methods. Again, it's described in the Gartley threads.

As you can see on the video (above) screens get messy when you apply all measurements like the books say. In trading, Less is More :-)
    cheers.
