    pivot points indicators

If anyone has other pivot points indicators feel free to include here.

Anyone came up with a solution, which time is reasonable best (and why?) to use as opening of the day?

Hi Kor.. Its so strange that the main indicator of not only every harmonic pattern but also of trend change is so disregarded/taken for granted.
From the little that I have gleaned from Ken Chow and his superstructure trading it becomes obvious that long time frame market participants read the structure of the market from the pivot points left by the market maker.
How else can the market maker inform savvy traders of his intentions? The market maker requires these traders inputs to achieve his targets.
Analyzing preceding and proceeding price action from the pivot points these traders not only read the strength of the trend
but can also gauge at which fib retracement the trade entry becomes feasible and where profit taking should occur..
I am quite sure that within our ranks there are some pivot point experts who may be happy to share their knowledge with us
    Hopefully,
    Paul

do you mean that pivot points are the "main indicator"?

yes. I want to give it a try. Therefore pivot points functionality was added to AMP yesterday (Daily, Weekly, Monthly Pivots), so they are displayed together with the pattern. The most common (described in many places on the internet) calculations were used:

    Pivot point (PP) = (High + Low + Close) / 3
    First resistance (R1) = (2 x PP) - Low
    First support (S1) = (2 x PP) - High
    Second resistance (R2) = PP + (High - Low)
    Second support (S2) = PP - (High - Low)

Since AMP looks for harmonic/geometric patterns for trend change we will see how well pivot points confirm the turn moment. I will place some screenshots on this in the near future.

btw: there are some variations of pivot points calculations: fibonacci pivot points, camarila pivot points, woodie pivot points. I have no experience in it, so if anyone wants to explore on this topic, please.

About the different types of Pivot Point, this is how much they differ on dayli basis:

As you can see they are quite different, personally i use fibonacci pivots because i'm used to fibo levels and i think they are accurate, but i dont know about the other, maybe there are more accurate pivot levels than fibos?
    dezire and mofadzli like this.

Kor look the first fibo resistance, 1.3292, now look where the Eur usd turned down yesterday

I think that is quite accurate , i dont know if in the pic it's clear enough, the price touched the green line, resistance 1 and fell down..

Pivot Farm has a novel approach to using pivots and other methods to produce confluence zones that may be useful.

    Pivot break

    Thank you Kid Rock...
Knowing the area is good but price action confirming the trade is better...
(I also thank you for the many res courses you have shared with us) I am studying Jim Kane at the mo....
As you may see on lower time frames you can hold really tight stops
